Capacity Scale and Facility

The Sarawak shipyard cluster has formed a large-scale layout: Bintulu, as the core supply base, has improved the supporting facilities for marine engineering equipment; The Sarawak Land Shipyard in Miri covers an area of 47 hectares and has the capability to construct deep-sea support ships. Its dry dock can accommodate 4500 tons ships for maintenance; Sibu's SSI shipyard has a 300 meters slipway and can simultaneously build 20/30 meters class tugboats, delivering over 100 vessels of various types including tugboats, landing craft, offshore support ships, and more.

Market orders and customer expansion

The regional market penetration effect is significant: TAS Offshore won 12 shipbuilding contracts in Indonesia and Singapore in the 2024 fiscal year, with a total amount of 86.66 million Malaysian Ringgit. The Indonesian market contributed 85% of the orders, mainly serving local mining transportation needs (coal and nickel ore transport tugboats), with orders in hand reaching 210 million Malaysian Ringgit, which will continue to support revenue from 2025 to 2026; As the largest offshore factory ship builder in Malaysia, Nam Cheong's Meili Shipyard has an annual delivery capacity of 12 ships, and its business covers the global offshore support ship (OSV) market. At the same time, it has expanded its revenue sources through the charter business, and its fleet size has reached 34 ships.

Industrial clusters and complete supporting facilities

Government led industrial planning accelerates cluster formation: Tanjung Manis is building a high-end shipbuilding cluster, focusing on high-tech ships for deep-sea and inland transportation; Kuching, Sibu and other places are promoting the construction of maritime training centers and 150 acre industrial parks, improving talent supply and supply chain support; The release of tax policy dividends, exemption of sales service tax (SST) for ship maintenance and major repairs, and reduction of operating costs for enterprises.
